If you’re seeking a wine that dances gracefully between sophistication and refreshment, look no further than Trimbach Riesling.

Few producers are as closely associated with dry Riesling as Trimbach. For nearly four centuries, the family has been crafting wines in the heart of Alsace, and their classic Riesling remains one of the benchmark examples of the style. This is a wine built around precision, freshness and purity rather than richness or sweetness. The nose is immediately expressive, opening with aromas of lemon zest, pear and white flowers, followed by hints of candied citrus, wet stone and delicate herbs. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and focused, with crisp acidity driving flavours of green apple, grapefruit and citrus peel. As it opens in the glass, subtle mineral notes begin to emerge, adding complexity and length. There is an effortless balance to the wine, combining intensity with elegance and making it both refreshing in its youth and capable of developing beautifully over time. It is a classic expression of dry Alsace Riesling and a wonderful example of why Trimbach has become such an iconic name in the world of wine.

Trimbach Riesling, Producer

Founded in 1626, Maison Trimbach is one of the most historic and respected family wineries in France. Now in its thirteenth generation, the family remains based in Ribeauvillé, where it has built an international reputation for producing some of Alsace’s finest wines. Riesling sits at the heart of the estate’s identity, with Trimbach widely recognised for creating dry, age-worthy examples that emphasise purity, minerality and terroir expression. The estate’s flagship Clos Ste Hune is considered one of the world’s great white wines, and the classic Riesling serves as an excellent introduction to the house style.

Trimbach Riesling, Terroir & Winemaking

The fruit is sourced from vineyards throughout the foothills surrounding Ribeauvillé, where a combination of limestone, marl and sandstone soils contributes complexity and freshness. Protected by the Vosges Mountains, Alsace enjoys one of the driest climates in France, allowing grapes to ripen fully while retaining their naturally high acidity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity, with no oak influence and no malolactic fermentation. This approach allows the wine’s fruit, minerality and precision to remain front and centre. The result is a Riesling that is unmistakably Alsatian: dry, focused and exceptionally food-friendly.

Trimbach Riesling, Tasting Notes

Pale straw yellow in colour. Aromas of lemon, pear and white flowers are layered with notes of grapefruit, citrus peel and wet stone. The palate is crisp and linear, showing bright acidity, orchard fruit and a long mineral-driven finish.
